Services Windows changes
- Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG and press Enter again.
- This will reopen the System Configuration Utility.
- Click on the Services tab, then click the option at the bottom called "Hide All Microsoft Services" to see what unnecessary services that run on Windows that can be eliminated.
Disk Cleanup, Scandisk and Defrag
- Open My Computer
- Right-click the hard disk drive normally C
- Click on the Tools tab
- Under Checking errors, click on Check Now. Alternatively, you may want to check the boxes "Correcting errors automatically file" and "Scan For Attempted recovery and sectors Bad"
- Then click on the General tab and click on Disk Cleanup. After the computer calculates the amount of files to remove, place a check mark next to the type of files you want to delete and click OK. Read the descriptions for each file type to determine whether it should eliminate it.
- Finally, click the Tools tab and click again under the defragmentation Defragment Now
Click on the hard drive you want to defrag, click Scan, and then click Defragment. This process may take some time.
Changes in Windows Setting
- Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG and press Enter.
- Click on the tab STARTUP in the System Configuration Utility to see all the elements that begin booting. Each starting point of the tab cargo is checked immediately after Windows starts. If many of the themes here, this will reduce the boot time of Windows considerably.
- Each of these items may be switched off or simply using the checkmark box to the left of the item.
- When you have finished editing the entries in the Start tab, click OK and you will be asked to restart the system.
